Present the record and route the file
Understand roadside review and transfer before using the app.
Two tasks: show the logs and send the file
At roadside, make the current day and previous seven days available through the compliant display or printout. You must also follow the device’s supported transfer workflow when requested. Viewing a log and transmitting its standardized file are separate actions.
Check driver, vehicle, dates, and required details. Practice inspection mode while safely parked. Provider courses show the controls for Samsara, Motive, and Omnitracs IVG.
After preparing the readable record, use the supported workflow to route the inspection file.
Use the requested supported method
Telematics ELDs support web services and email. Local-transfer ELDs support USB and Bluetooth. Use the method your device supports as requested by the officer.
The officer supplies the output-file comment or routing code. Enter it exactly. It helps the inspection system find the file.

A personal PDF copy does not necessarily perform the standardized DOT transfer.
A personal copy is not a DOT transfer
A PDF emailed to yourself is not necessarily the standardized ELD output file sent to DOT. Use the actual DOT workflow and follow the officer’s receipt instructions.
