Omnitracs IVG: login, equipment & duty status

Set up the right account, truck, and trailer, then record truthful duty statuses.

LESSON 1 / 2 · Start with the right driver and truck

Start with the right driver and truck

Sign in, verify equipment, and check the connection before moving.

Sign in before starting work

Sign in with your own account before moving. Confirm the driver and current truck so activity belongs to the right person and equipment.

On the IVG driver login screen, enter your Driver ID and password. Confirm that your identity is the active driver. In a team, verify the active and inactive driver roles before moving.

Make the equipment match the trip

IVG is an in-cab terminal associated with the truck, rather than a phone app that selects any nearby truck. Check the vehicle identifier against this truck and enter the correct trailer and load information in the fleet-configured HOS workflow. Report a mismatch before departure.

Carry the check into the day

Repeat the check after a truck or trailer swap. For example, when changing from truck 208 to 214, confirm that 214 appears in the record and is connected. Report an incorrect identifier or failed connection before moving.
