Omnitracs IVG: daily review, certification & inspections

Follow the day to its close: remarks, certification, DVIRs, and physical pre-trip checks.

LESSON 1 / 2 · Read the day and explain the details

Read the day and explain the details

Review the timeline, add useful remarks, and certify the completed record.

Start at the first task

Review each completed day before certifying it. Read the activity in order and check driver, dates, equipment, shipment details, and gaps. A neat graph can still contain a wrong status or an old trailer number.

Open Hours of Service → Day Log. Check the Header, Graph, and events for the chosen date, including the trailer and load information. Review any pending carrier changes against what actually happened.

Give an unclear event its context

Use the installed HOS edit or annotation workflow for the relevant event to add a factual explanation. Confirm the saved result. Ask your carrier for the current button sequence if it differs from the training card.

A useful remark gives the task, place, and time: “Fueling at Cedar stop, 10:10–10:25.” If the status is wrong too, use the permitted correction workflow. The note alone does not change the duty status.

Certify after checking

Use the Certify tab in ELD mode, choose the completed date, review the statement, and certify that day. Review accepted corrections and recertify the affected record. Older AOBRD instructions may call this Approve; use your current ELD instructions.
