Review & certify driver logs

Understand the driver’s signature and when to sign again.

LESSON 2 / 2 · Review again after a correction

Review again after a correction

Keep the driver in control when a submitted log changes.

An edit requires a new affirmation

When a submitted log is edited, the driver must review and recertify the changed record, then resubmit it. A carrier can propose a correction, but the driver must confirm or reject it.

Bring the change back to the driver

At a glance · Follow the sequence

  1. 01

    Proposal

    Safety explains the fueling correction

  2. 02

    Driver review

The driver accepts accurate changes or rejects errors

  3. 03

    New affirmation

Recertify and resubmit the changed day

Driver review remains part of the correction, even when the carrier found the error.

Compare a proposed change with the actual task and time before accepting it.

Check before accepting

  1. Read the proposed status, time, and annotation.
  2. Compare them with what happened.
  3. Accept an accurate change or reject an inaccurate one.
  4. Review, recertify, and resubmit the changed day.

Do not share credentials or let someone certify in the driver’s name.

Correct errors even when hours decrease

An accurate correction may add on-duty time or reveal a violation. That does not justify leaving the record wrong. The Expert course explains the edit limits.
