Motive: login, equipment & duty status

Set up the right account, truck, and trailer, then record truthful duty statuses.

LESSON 2 / 2 · Let the status follow the work

Let the status follow the work

Select a status from the actual task, then confirm it saved.

The day begins before driving

Select on-duty not driving before starting an inspection or other work. The workday can begin while the truck is parked; the status should record that activity accurately.

While stationary, tap the current duty status, choose the correct status, and Save. The Vehicle Gateway records driving automatically; use the non-driving selection for actual work or rest.

Record each change in activity

One shift, four truthful statuses

At a glance · Follow the sequence

  1. 01

    Inspect

    On-duty not driving

  2. 02

    Travel

    Driving, recorded automatically

  3. 03

    Personal time

    Off duty after release

  4. 04

    Berth rest

Sleeper berth while in the berth

A parked truck can still mean work. Choose the status from the task, then confirm it saved.

For example, unloading at a receiver is on-duty work. After release from work and responsibility, personal time can be off-duty. Use sleeper berth for time actually spent in the qualifying berth.

Check the record when safely parked

When safely parked, check that driving appeared on the right driver and truck and that the selected status saved. Personal conveyance and yard move have separate eligibility rules; choose them only for qualifying activity.
